Do I need to register to use NeverGreedy?

No. You can search for retailers and products and shop via our site without a NeverGreedy account.

However, a NeverGreedy profile (free registration) is needed to review products (coming soon) or take part in the different message boards.

How much is donated to charitable projects?

NeverGreedy donates 80% of revenues, i.e. the total revenue we receive from the commissions paid by affiliated retailers and from advertising banners. We use the other 20% to cover our overheads and to invest in improving the site.

How does your comparison service work?

All comparison tables on our sites are independently written. They are based on users’ feedback and NeverGreedy staff reviews. We aim to be objective and provide clear reviews of each product or service. NeverGreedy is building up its own quick and simple comparison applications as we are developing our database of reviews and our technology.

Meanwhile you can access through our site the comparison service provided by our partners, Unravelit, MoneySuperMarket.com and Which. It is very simple. For example, if you want to quickly compare utilities suppliers and switch to a cheaper supplier online go to our utilities’ page and click on our affiliated link with Unravelit. Compare suppliers and if you do decide to switch supplier, NeverGreedy will earn £8.50 in commission from Unravelit.

How long does it take for the money I raised through my purchase to be confirmed?

As soon as we receive a confirmation from the retailers on how much your purchase helped to raise, NeverGreedy will update the total being raised on the header of our website. Most retailers confirm your donation the same day as your transaction. Others can take a little longer, for example, Amazon normally confirms donations within 4-5 days, some catalogue companies approx 10 days. Please note some retailers take up to 30 days to respond.

We do not plan on tracking individual contributions, to do so would require us to track your click and purchase.  At NeverGreedy we don’t like tracking visitors to our sites (we only track very general data not specific to a person) and feel the additional benefits of allowing you to see your individual contribution is outweighed by having to track you.  We either list or will list the average commission for every retailer allowing you quickly to calculate your rough contribution.

Do we have to be a charity to apply for a donation?

No. Any charity, association, trust, school or pre-school, community group or grassroot organisation can apply no matter how small or large. However, NeverGreedy only accepts projects that promote sustainable environment and development. Click here to find out more about our requirements and how to apply. Can I decide where the raised funds from my online purchase go to?

In order to support projects to achieve their goals in terms of sustaining environment or reduce the digital divide, NeverGreedy chose to select few projects every year through a thorough application process so that more can be done and more people helped with the funds we raise. However, if you wish to nominate a specific project please contact us directly to enter this project in our next application round. The more we raise the more projects we can select while ensuring that  your help makes a real difference.

Absolutely, in fact this is probably one of the easiest ways to get lots of people to use NeverGreedy to generate funds for charitable projects.  Whether it is for a corporate or personal purchase, tell your colleagues, business partners, suppliers about NeverGreedy. This can be a very productive way to promote our service and raise funds.

How do I know how much is being raised?

On the top right of our website there is a 'ticker' showing total amount raised that is updated at the end of each week.  As the volume of the site increases we intend to move to a daily update.

In our news section, we will give updates on how our funds will be used and which projects were selected and why.

I cannot find a retailer. Why and what can I do?

In the interests of impartiality and transparency we also display the tariffs and prices of major retailers regardless of whether we have a commercial agreement with them. If we missed out, please email us and we will list the retailer as soon as possible.
